Classes – Conformation

Our conformation classes work with the dogs, but also the handlers.

Conformation is where a judge will look at dogs of the same breed, and choose the dog he/she feels is the best representation of the breed on that particular day.  It is up to the handlers to know their breed standard, and to show the dog to the best possible.  This takes a little training for the dog, and a little more training for the handler.  All handlers in the building must be able to physically control their dog in a classroom setting.

Our instructor, Michelle, has been handling and showing dogs since the 1970s, and is phenominal at getting the handlers, and the dogs, to look their best.  She also can assist with ring procedure questions and what to expect when you enter a show.  Whether you are a novice or a pro, your dog is big or small, there’s something for you in our classes.
